COLLEGE BABBLE:
Alright kids, let’s play a game. Who’s tall, Scottish, pretty, and scruffy all over? I’ll give you folks a second to take that all in and formulate an answer. Time’s up. Survey says, GERARD BUTLER.
Ok, game over. Let’s get to the point of the latest edition of my college ramblings: Last night was “Midnight Madness” in Sparta. It’s a massive annual event (taking place during the overly hyped Homecoming Weekend) that celebrates the first practice session for our Basketball team. In Layman’s terms, it’s a pep rally with a fancy schmancy title. Naturally, in true peppy fashion, you get high off of school spirit while in the midst of basketball-related events, loud music (usually outdated), and a gang of cheerleaders cheesing in your face for about two hours. Even though you have to deal with a ton of pushing, shoving, and a slew of choice words just to make way in that bitch, it’s tons of fun. However, during last night’s festivities, the fun took a sharp turn for the better as our, what I like to call, unofficial mascot, finally hopped off the big screen we normally see him on and onto the court as a ginormous surprise. Indeed, King Leonidas, Mr.Gerard Butler if you’re nasty, was back in his homeland quizzing his Spartans with one measly question that’s practically a no-brainer for us. If you’re a fan of the action-packed film 300, you’ve probably already caught my drift. But, if you find solace residing under a rock, the hot piece of ass bellowed into the mic, “Spartans, what is your profession?!” In return, we all creamed our pants flipped a nut, while fist-pumping and responding “HA-HOO!” In the words of Kanye, it was a glorious occasion.
Apparently, Sir Butler and his adorable Irish accent, came back for another dosage of Sparta pride at today’s football game. Seeing as I’m not a big fan of the pigskin, I wasn’t there to feast my eyes on him for a second time. No complaints here. My eyes were spoiled enough last night. Ears, too. Our band played Jay-Z! Kudos to them. Oh, and while I’m here, one time for my boys on the basketball team! Let’s take it all the way this year, shall we?
Sidebar: I will be ending this night by popping “PS, I Love You” in my ancient DVD player as I didn’t get a chance to last night. I haven’t watched it in ages! Sure, Gerard Butler as King Leonidas was a big deal but let’s not forget his role as GERRY. That movie jump-started my love for him.
